Congratulations to Sensei Peter Taylor on acheiving his Yondan with Shihan Woodhams & Sensei Kevin Buxey."The grade was a very long path and very arduous one quoted Pete" im glad its done & dusted back to the learning stage all over again.
I started karate when i was 15 with a few friends for a bit of self defence, 14 years later I still enjoy it as much as ever, I have out lasted all of the friends that started with me. I help teach all ages and I feel I have the confidence to deal with any would be attacker should it happen, I find it to be a very friendly club and very relaxed, it has provided me with self defence, self control, confidence and of course many new friends.
I find teaching very rewarding, and the history and philosophies of Goju-ryu intriguing. I feel that there is a lot to learn but that is the Goju-Ryu system. Goju-Ryu is a very popular style I feel its because it is suited to almost every situation. Sensei Buxey is an exellent teacher and feel that with his teaching I have a well rounded knowledge of the martial art. I would recommend it to anyone.

I originally got interested in karate by watching films and decided to join a club in 1996; I trained once a week on Friday evenings. Since then I have seen many people come and go during the 9 years that I have been there. Now having achieved a Shodan I train on the Monday juniors and the Tuesday adult's class and assist in teaching the Tuesday junior's class. Karate has improved my fitness immensely and has given me a lot of confidence I didn't use to have. I have also learned a lot more on self-control. Everyone in the club is very friendly and get on well with each other, which makes it easier to train and learn new things when more relaxed. Sensei Buxey is a great teacher and has taught me a great deal in the time I have been there and look forward to many more years of karate with him.I am now 18 and have just been awarded my senior Shodan given to me by Sensei Buxey, Sensei Mulholland & Sensei Daniel Lewis at the last course in Bristol after completing an examination.I have now achieved my Nidan
After joining the club and then leaving for a while, i returned in 2003, i have now achieved a junior Shodan-Ho grade, and hopefully will be obtaining full senior status when i get to 18.thats when i take a cross over grade.
